Tom Bowman - Founder & CEO

In 1973, with nearly 10 years of experience in the field serving process, President and CEO Tom Bowman opened T&B Legal Service. Tom quickly became a leading force in the legal support industry as he acquired in depth knowledge of the court system and service of process. In 1996, reflecting a change in the industry and Tom’s ongoing effort to elevate the company and provide the customer with the best experience possible, T&B Legal Service became Sterling Madison Company. Tom estimates that he has served over a half a million papers and continues to use that knowledge and experience to insure that Sterling Madison staff provides the highest level of service to our customers. Tom has contributed to the industry behind the scenes as well, serving as the President, Legislative Chairman and Director of the California Association of Legal Support Professionals. Tom is also a founding member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers.

Michael Lewis - Operations Manager

Michael Lewis joined Sterling Madison in 1993, and has worked all facets of the operation since then, building an impressive background of knowledge in both court filings and service of process. That expertise takes Sterling Madison a step above the rest. With over 20 years of experience working in the field serving process and filing directly in all courts in the Bay Area, Michael offers Sterling Madison customers real world, hands-on experience that he puts to work every day. With a keen ability to address customer requests and direct field staff, Michael is an essential connection to Sterling Madison’s commitment to excellent service.

Wendy Bowman - Process Department - Judgment Collection

Wendy Bowman joined the office staff in 1999. Working in the process department, Wendy specializes in service of wage garnishments and third party levies, establishing Sterling Madison as a force in judgment collection Statewide. Customers often report that Wendy is the first person to explain the writ process in terms that make sense. This no-nonsense approach helps customers come up with the best approach for collection of their judgment. Like Tom, Wendy is also involved as an industry leader. Completing her 11th year as a Director of the California Association of Legal Support Professionals, Wendy served four terms as Chairman of the Board, continues to work on numerous committees and is the editor of the Association’s quarterly news publication.

Kathy Paz - Court Services Department

Kathy Paz, with over 25 years working in legal support, is a valued asset to the Sterling Madison customer support team. Kathy’s extensive knowledge of documentation, set up and court procedure are utilized day in and out as we review and prepare filings for court. Kathy understands that customers are entrusting important work to Sterling Madison and that issues need to be reported timely. She sets the gold standard, keeping customers apprised and following up with court staff to ensure the work is completed and done right.
